Make a musical hello

Listen to four steady claps, then clap on every count: one, two, three, four!

Start with four steady claps. Then try quiet counts and a second sound.

Level 1 · Pattern 1 of 8 · Zion leads
  1. 1Clap
  2. 2Clap
  3. 3Clap
  4. 4Clap

Tap a pad or use A S D F. Space plays the clap.

How to play & sound settings

Listen through the first pattern. After another four-count lead-in, repeat it with the pads. Each box lasts one count, including a quiet box. A rest needs no press. The game listens to your taps on the screen or keyboard, so you don’t need a microphone.

Complexity starts with four steady claps and gradually adds quiet counts, sounds and longer patterns. Finish eight patterns to try the next level, or choose any level yourself. Changing complexity starts that level from its first pattern. Pause to change levels during a round. Guided mode keeps the picture clues visible. Memory mode hides them on your turn. Sound pads can be explored between rounds. If timing feels tricky, choose the slower pace and try your device’s speakers or wired headphones.

Jahman explains listening on your first play and announces your turn before each response count-in. His words appear on screen too.

Jahman cheers after a successful pattern. Starting another pattern stops his voice, so you can hear every beat clearly.

Background music rests while you play this game. Your music settings stay saved.

Follow the gentle drums while you listen and play. They keep counting through the quiet boxes; leave those boxes quiet with your own hands. The drums pause while Jahman speaks.

In The Beat Between, the Little Nauts learn that listening and leaving space help everyone contribute.
